This is the first Popcorn Picnic strip I drew featuring the two characters I eventually
settled on, Jonesy and Danny. The evolution of the strip went through several stages of
development before I drew this, as well as after . . . as you've probably noticed.

Although I liked this strip more than my original approach to Popcorn Picnic (in which
I narcissistically depicted/expressed my own opinion about movies), it still didn't quite
do it for me. So I sketched and wrote and sketched some more, and eventually drew a
second "review," for "Star Wars, Episode III" that pleased me. And off I went.

Chances are that no one is interested in this sort of thing, but just in case an editor or
art director is reading and considering the strip for their newspaper, and -- prior to
reading these paragraphs -- might have been saying, "Why, this strip looks nothing like
the others! I shant be publishing this!" (because who but an editor would use the word
"shant"?), well, now there's no confusion. We all know this strip looks less good.

I say we just get over it and publish my strip, y'all.
